LMG was founded in 1984 in a one-room Orlando office where 17-year-old high school student Les Goldberg began renting out an Aqua Star 3B video projector. As more rental equipment was added, clients started streaming in. Today, LMG handles much more than rental equipment but our partnerships with high-caliber clients, working on events for Microsoft, Ernst & Young and Boeing Corporation, remains the same.

By 1987, LMG added screens, cameras and teleprompters to its rental inventory and hired its first five employees and by 1990, LMG sales broke the $1 million mark. The company completed engineering and construction of its first truck-in-a-box concept, a multi-camera video production package conveniently sent to clients in shipping cases, and allowing for quick set up.

In 1993, LMG started its product sales and system integration division targeting direct audiovisual equipment sales and custom integration to clients. LMG's permanent staff grew to 40 and the firm began integrating audiovisual equipment for educational facilities and corporate clients across Central Florida.

In 1994, LMG opened the 20,000 sf Phoenix office to better serve its West Coast clientele. To support rental clients, LMG’s office extended its hours of operation to seven days a week. LMG also expanded its services to include video walls, computer graphic systems and nearly doubled its on-hand inventory. Land was purchased for a new Orlando site in Orlando Central Park.

In 1996, LMG built its new 58,000 square-foot corporate headquarters and warehouse operations center in Orlando.  In 1998, LMG became the onsite provider of audiovisual services for the Orange County Convention Center – and continues to be onsite in that facility today.  In 2001, LMG opened another branch office in the world’s number one convention market - Las Vegas – and moved key staff members to this office.

As the Las Vegas market was growing, in 2004 LMG contracted architect and civil engineers to design a new 64,000 square-foot facility in Las Vegas, right off the Vegas “Strip”. LMG also added a new lighting division in 2004 to enhance our service offerings and become a “one-stop shop” for show technology. In early 2005, LMG built the world’s first multi-format high definition truck-in-a-box package, dubbed HD-1, a $1.5M system custom-designed around the Snell& Wilcox Kahuna switcher. LMG also purchased land in Orlando to expand the existing 58,000 square-foot site and construction began on the new Vegas facility in the fourth quarter of this year.

In 2006, LMG’s Las Vegas location moved into its newly-constructed 64,000 square foot facility. A new lighting department was also added to our Vegas location, making LMG full-service video, audio, and lighting in all 4 office locations. LMG also finished building a second high definition truck-in-a-box package, dubbed HD-2, giving LMG the only two high definition systems of its kind in the world.

In 2007, LMG began a new concert touring division, which provided audio support for the company’s first major world concert tour. In 2008, the division was officially launched as LMG Touring, and provides integrated technology solutions to industry artists, engineers, and managers.

To accommodate our growth and expansion of equipment offerings, LMG completed construction of an Orlando headquarters addition in December 2008. This new construction brings our current office/warehouse from 58,000 square feet to 108,000 square feet, and is the largest air-conditioned staging facilities in Central Florida.

2009 marked LMG’s 25th year of business, and the LMG Systems Integration division experienced tremendous growth with revenue increasing by 60%, focusing efforts into new markets such as house of worship, government and hospitality. In addition, LMG Touring supported over 15  artists, and went on the road with several major tours. LMG also expanded service offerings for show clients through the development of innovative virtual technologies.

2010 and the future of LMG will focus on the continued growth of our three lines of business – show technology, systems integration, and touring, across the country and internationally.
