Information Systems Specialist

We are looking for an Information Systems Specialist in our Orlando location to assist in implementation and maintenance of the organization’s computer and telephony resources.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates (A.S.) degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • One or more years experience in a technical position involving Windows application support as well as desktop and server hardware support. Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, MS Office, Outlook, Anti-Virus products, and mobile technology.
  • Administrative knowledge of MS Active Directory.
  • Basic understanding of the use and function of Ethernet LAN switches and routers.
  • Knowledge of R2 a plus.

Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
  • Assist in the implementation of new information systems as required to suit the business needs of the organization, including computer and telephony systems, working with both the Information Systems Manager and outside contractors.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the organization’s LAN and WAN systems. Modify systems to suit requirements and ensure that systems function in keeping with requirements as directed by the Information Systems Manager.
  • Assist end users to resolve applications and hardware problems by being part of the first level of support to respond to the IT Helpdesk before escalation to the Information Systems Manager.
  • Assist in the maintenance of security systems, including alarm, closed circuit television. computerized telephony systems, automated access control systems, and HVAC control systems. Modify programs to suit requirements and ensure that systems function in keeping with requirements as directed by the Information Systems Manager.
  • Maintain current awareness of new computer and telephony systems and technology.
  • Test and perform routine application checks and performance issues on any/all new versions of business software on lab environment before installation on production environment. Work with vendor to resolve any/all issues.
  • Assist/advise departments with annual inventory.
  • Prepare and submit any range of periodic or special reports on database operations as required.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure that the integrity and utilization of company’s business tracking software is maintained on a constant basis. Recommend, guide, and advise course of action for processes and procedures while maximizing the utilization of the company’s business software.
