We are looking for an experienced Audio Quality Control Technician in our Orlando location to perform duties to pull, stage, set up, test and prepare audio product for shipment, working within the limits of standard or accepted practice.
Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
- Work from reservations, show quotes, projector check lists, pull lists and other similar documentation.
- Receive and review show assignment or rental reservation and show order. Pull equipment from warehouse locations and stage in designated area.
- Visually examine components to determine obvious requirements for cleaning, repair, or other preparation to meet with quality standards. Make minor cosmetic repairs including the routine cleaning and replacement of labels.
- Determine when components require operation in system or as stand alone unit and ensure that all components and ancillary items are available and represented on show order and reservation to provide for optimal operation. Communicate discrepancies and clarify requirements with the Account Executives, Equipment Logistics Coordinators, Manager, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Supervisor. Track equipment not available in physical inventory through computerized inventory record and report scheduling discrepancies or unusual availability issues.
- Build system racks based on order requirements.
- Set up product components for inspection and functional test and to suit requirements of customer order and replicate show conditions. Install and test all required components including switchers, systems, and other required elements. Ensure that systems are complete and operable to suit customer requirements. Complete check list for lighting equipment to check and document all required audio elements and components to ensure compliance with quality standards. Forward product which fails to perform to standard to Engineering for analysis and repair and communicate requirements repair and scheduling requirements. Follow up to ensure that equipment will be repaired and available for shipment within required time limits and work with engineering and supervision to investigate and determine alternatives to resolve malfunctions, define alternative set ups, and fulfill customer orders meeting quality specification.
- Reposition product meeting quality standard in staging location in preparation for manifesting, packing and loading, marking staged lots to indicate status of order.
- Work in teams to assist with the manifesting of orders, loading and unloading of trucks, attending to the needs of visitors picking up or returning product, making local deliveries, responding to inquiries from internal staff or customers, and resolving technical issues.
- Check the condition of cases and ensure that all components of shipping cases are operable. Make basic repairs to cases including the cutting and positioning of foam or blocking structures to suit product shipping requirements and avoid shifting or damage in transit. Clean cases and make minor repairs to handles, latches, corners, wheels, or other elements. Recommend new or redesigned cases for equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Ability to problem solve, communicate effectively, plan, and organize .
- Have good adaptability, and dependability skills.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Minimum 5 years experience in audio visual industry, specifically on show site.
- Advanced knowledge of audio equipment.
- Self-motivated.
- Flexible schedule to include nights/weekends required.
