Fontainebleau Resort Miami Beach

The grand high-end Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach recently underwent a $1 billion renovation project and reopening, designed to offer guests an unforgettable experience and create a “21st century showplace that caters to a new generation.” Contracted by the Griffin Gallery in Los Angeles, LMG’s team was onsite to support the grand reopening celebration, assisting with the integration and unveiling of renowned artist James Turrell’s latest lighted artwork piece of his “Tall Glass” series.
As the first commercial installation of Turrell’s “Tall Glass” artwork series, which are in several locations throughout the resort, the art pieces consist of programmed Element Lab’s LED VersaTILE panels behind etched glass that constantly change color, theme and patterns over several hours, presenting the guest with a continually shifting light and color palette. LMG worked closely with Element Labs, the Griffin Gallery, and the Fontainebleau management team to support the smooth integration of the panels into the environment , and provided 24/7 support during the reopening weekend to ensure the technical elements of the artwork were working properly, as intended by the artist.
In addition, LMG currently provides ongoing monthly service for the lighted lobby art pieces at the Fontainebleau including preventative maintenance support, such as LED software updates, hardware adjustments, cleaning, and troubleshooting to make sure the equipment is operating in working order. LMG also provides support for additional audio and video improvements throughout the resort.
